  • Site Inspections
  • Site Maintenance
  • Inlet Protection
  • Reinforced Silt Fence

A popular way to control storm water runoff is by utilizing the temporary sediment control fence. When installed and properly maintained, this is a very effective method to prevent erosion.

  • Non-Reinforced Silt Fence
  • Sod Installation

Sod is appropriate for disturbed areas which require immediate vegetative covers , or where sodding is preferred to other means of grass establishment. Locations particularly suited to stabilization with sod are waterways carrying intermittent flow, areas around drop inlets or grassed in shrubs.

  • Erosion Control Blankets

Erosion control blankets are rolled out and securely fastened to the soil. The material in the blanket establishes immediate erosion control. This method is effective on flat surfaces or of slopes. Seed and soil are kept in place, and the stage is set for developing a healthy stand of turf. Soil retentions blankets can last from 45 days to years, depending on the make of blanket that is installed.

  • Triangular Sediment Dike
  • Hydromulch

Hydro-seeding or hydro-mulch seeding is one of the fastest methods of seeding. Demand for hydro-seeding is growing rapidly. Hydro seeding is a quick and efficient method to establish vegetation. The mulch applied with the seed is a form of recycled paper or a form of wood mulch. The recycled paper or wood mulch forms a barrier to protect the seed and soil from the wind and rainfall and gradually decomposes as the vegetation is established. Grass seed and fertilizer are applied with the mulch in a water based liquid. The slurry is then sprayed over the areas needing vegetation.

  • Rock Berms

Rock berms are used in areas where water flow can be very heavy. The standard size of the berm is 2’ wide by 18” tall with a slope of 2:1. The material used is 3” to 5” pieces of crushed concrete. The rock berm slows the flow of water so the sediment can filter out. Rock berms are most effective at reducing bed load channels and should not be substituted for other erosion and sediment control measures further up the water shed.
